Business as Usual.

After our recent funding shock and following discussions with Terrence Higgins Trust the Board of Reach Out Highland have decided that the best way forward for the organisation is a formal merger and this strategy is being pursued.

THT have 25 years of providing HIV and sexual health services and in recent years have expanded their remit to provide sexual health service to the LGBT and other at risk communities.

We have been assured by THT that all services currently provided by Reach Out Highland (social groups etc) will continue to operate afetr the formal transfer of services on October 1st.

The board see this as a positive and exciting step and feel assured that it will be "business as usual" from the 1st.

Sky Dive

new new date!

September 30th

Mike had a cold on the 3rd and he wasn't allowed to jump out of a plane. Nevermind, now you've even more time to consider sponsoring him. Mike's Sponsored Sky Dive will now be on Saturday 30th at Kingsmuir Airfield, Fife still at 9 in the morning.

Sponsoring Mike is a great way to support Reach Out Highland.

Superheroes Disco

It's time to dust off that spandex nip into a telephone kiosk, get yer pants on outside your clothes and fly to the LGBT Superheroes Disco. 8pm, Saturday 30th September at the Corriegarth Hotel. Get your £5 ticket now on 01463 711585 or pay at the door.

note: a strict no Kryptonite policy willl operate on the night of the disco.

Coffee Mornings

The LGBT Social Group are planning a series of coffee mornings at Reach Out Highland's offices. They're on Saturday mornings from 10am 'til 2. The coffee's cheap and the company's cheerful, everyone's welcome.

Halloween Disco

This will be on Saturday October 28th at the Ullapool Hotel, in, well, Ullapool! Don't worry about that though transport's being arranged and you can even stay over night at special room rates. Call Reach Out Highland on 01463 711585 for more information. Or watch this space.

Clinic Services

Our clinic will be open as usual, on every Tuesday between 5pm and 7pm for HIV and Hep testing. STI testing is also available by arrangement. Please call 01463 711585 for information or appointment.

Training

Reach Out Highland offers a range of training events through our annual Highland wide training programme supported by NHS Highland.

Our training is aimed at anyone with an interest in sexual health matters, including professionals and members of the public such as parents and carers. Previous professional participants have included doctors, nurses, teachers, social workers and staff from the voluntary sector.

All our events are delivered by qualified and experienced trainers who seek to involve participants through a variety of methodologies. Out trainers always aim to draw on participants' own attitudes, values and experiences.
