Malaga
Málaga is located on an excellent site because of its proximity to both the Mediterranean Sea and the Málaga Hills, declared a Natural Park in 1989. On the western coast, the towns of Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Mijas, Fuengirola, Marbella and Estepona, which form part of the famous Costa del Sol, are all great tourist destinations.

The Picasso Museum
The Palacio de Buenavista, a historical building of characteristic sixteenth century Andalusian architecture in the center of Malaga was purchased in order to hold the collection and to become the permanent home of the Museo Picasso Málaga a historical building of characteristic sixteenth century Andalusian architecture was purchased: the Palacio de Buenavista, with its blend of Renaissance and Mudejar elements.
Malaga Cathedral
The cathedral of the Encarnación is one of the town's most important monuments and nne of the best Andalusian Renaissance temples. The Catholic Monarchs ordered the construction of the building. The south tower and the main façade are unfinished. It is situated in the historic centre of the town and popularly known as La Manquita.
Malaga's Roman theatre
Malaga's Roman theatre lies at the foot of the Alcazaba fortress in the western part of the city. It remained hidden underground for many centuries until it was was discovered in 1951. Dating back to the first century, it was built during the Empire of Augustus. It was used up until the third century.

Malaga and the surrounding areas have been inhabited since prehistoric times, an affirmation that is clearly justified based on the evidence of pictorial remains, dolmens in Antequera, caves, such as La Pileta or Nerja. However, Malaga enters history with the arrival of the Phoenician navigators who landed on the coast, although there was possibly already an Iberian settlement. In the 8th century, the Phoenicians founded a settlement, which they named Malaka, at the mouth of the River Guadalhorce. These Semitic traders then began a self-interested search for the natural wealth of the region, which led them to travel all over the area on a reconnaissance tour of the land and its people. From these first contacts date a series of legends, true enigmas of our most remote past, of which the most notable are the myths regarding the Tartessians and the Greek colony known as Mainake.
